News Of the Game! Love Line is back (did they ever leave?) Defense continues reign as 6th best in the Nation; 'Blades top T'Wolves 5-1 for SIXTH straight win!
'Blades continue roll on the way to Toronto.
Well, what has happened to the Fireblades, the former epitome of mediocrity in a C Division where the latest winner of D just uses us all as a stepping stone to B. The Black Bears did it last year, and we thought the BomDrivers would do it again this year. Guess what, the Blades win their sixth straight to cruise into first place (by GAA) over the BomDrivers by their sixth straight win over the Timberwolves, who had surprisingly beat those very same BomDrivers. A crash is certain to follow! But don't think this game was pretty, it was just plain ugly.
First of all, the Eel, back from the IR list (what was he doing, rehabilitating on mortadella? Judy, get me another sandwich, I'm sick and can't get up!) and the Pounder out with a bad groin (that's a big groin - or so I'm told!)
So the 6th best defense in the Nation (nation of HNA, at least) had to face a game slightly changed - Johnny Stache with Cat, Hatchet with the Brod, and Tic Tac line intact.
No need to worry!
Althought the 'Blades missed a few shots - Flea went around the goalie and still missed the net! and incredibly, Bruiser with the great stick, missed with a tape-to-tape pass from Secret Weapons. Guys - the beginner clinic is Wednesday at Icehouse, maybe Sensei can help?
But the 'Blades went one, with the Love Line with 7 points, C. Hockey with a goal, the Brod with a goal (from the Hatchet!) that went off a defenseman, and Secret Weapon with two end-to-end rushed stopped cold by the goaltender. Good Game Guys!
Don't look ahead to the Bombers on Jan 28, we face the Cubs first!
watch out for the streaking Fireblades!
