Cubs don't scare 'Blades; No Goaltender means 10-1 Win
Teddy and Flea have 2 goals each, Love line clicks; what happened to Dickey?
It was a new team, the Cubs. They had the Black Bear's jerseys - we had been 1-4-0 versus the 'Bears, now in Div B. What could happen? The league top score Scafidi is on this team?
On the other hand, they were 0-2-0, losses to the 'Wolves and Driver. They had a few of the Admirals, too, I think. The future awaits.
For the 'Blades, our heroes, it was shaking-up time. A little learnin' at the hand of the "best one-on-one defenseman" meant the Cat would shake up the lines. He kept the Love Line the same. With Dickey with no goals this season, how soon would Love Line give him before they ditch the Dickey anchor??? With the Eel cleaning up the Olive Oil spill on Route 78 (with his mineral water???) the Size Line got C. Hockey; Lord of Discipline has Matty up from Defense. How would Defense fare without those stalwarts?
(Russ had quality time with his son) What, no Pounder on Offense? He seemed so good during The Saturday Game!
Whoops, we go out, and they have no goaltender! We shoot a few, and the guy in net has some good saves - sure, not like Driver, but better than Eby!
We continue on, with some fancy plays... A few 'Blades get their first points, and all have them now, save the goaltender... Hey, I tried going out of the net, but no one took my passes!
Like the new Woodbridge, save for Hurry-up-Helga the rink manager... hey, let us bask in our victory!
See you next week at the 'Bridge! |
